At the DP Exchange in Edinburgh on 30th June 2016, there was no escaping the tumultuous events of Brexit. The message was clear from both Opt-4’s Rosemary Smith and the Direct Marketing Association’s Zach Thornton – organisations need to continue preparing for GDPR. Whatever the future brings, the UK requires a law sympathetic to GDPR in order to do business with EU members; it needs to ensure adequacy status.
Zach, the DMA’s External Affairs Manager provided an overview of what the future holds for Data Protection, the impact of Brexit and key issues for marketers such as consent, legitimate interest and profiling. You can view his slide presentation HERE.
Rosemary, co-founder the Data Protection Network provided 10 Practical Steps to Future-proof your Processing. You can view her slide presentation HERE
