UK data reform proposals: what do people think?

November 2021

Results are in from our audience survey on data reform proposals!

Do people support the potential changes? Should the DPO role be mandatory or not? What about DPIAs?

Following the publication of the DCMS consultation document regarding proposed reforms to the data protection regime in the UK, we ran a survey with our readers to gauge opinions. We also discussed the proposals at our recent Privacy Question Time event.

The consultation is a substantial document with many detailed points.  If you have time, it’s worth reading.

Our survey reveals our readers are broadly in favour of reform, but they raised concerns about some of the proposed changes.
